Children Are The Future pt.2

Children are the keepers of tomorrow.

hands sticky with dreams,

and eyes wide enough to hold the whole sky.

Children run as if the earth were made only to feel their footsteps.

Children believe in magic without asking for proof,

they speak to clouds and ants as if each were an equal.

Children have not yet learned how to measure themselves by what they are missing.

We were once like that,

fearless, limitless, wild with joy.

We were once like that,

before the world asked for us to sit still,

before the world taught us that some dreams are too big.

Look at them,

the children.

The children still know what we forgot,

they understand

that life is not a race but a playground.

Children understand,

that love is not scarce but spilling everywhere.

If we listen,

they will lead us back to ourselves,

to each other,

to the place where wonder lives.
